How can we believe the one we have not known?

This week we laid out a huge challenge… Get to know God.

Like Abram… We are learning to believe that God is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do.

But we must know who He says He is.  We must learn what He says He will do.

This is a giant step but simply made up of small steps everyday as you get to know God.

My encouragement is this…

  1. Daily time alone with God using a system similar to the one below… prayer, bible study, scripture memory.
  2. A short daily reading… most will take less than two or 3 minutes.
  3. Read 15 minutes a day (several days a week) out of a book that helps you know God more.
  4. Keep attending every Sunday and take a next step, join a Sunday serving team and a small group.

Ok… this is going to take some work, some effort.  I know what some of you are saying already… Let me see if I can guess:

“I hate reading so I don’t.”

“I’m not a morning person.”

“Sunday is my only day off.”

I could go on because I have said some of the same things.

The truth is this.  We do what we want to do.  That is the truth.  If you want to know God more, you will.  If you want to know what He says you will find out.  If God is important enough to you… you will be compelled to discover Him more and more.

If you want fire insurance from hell, you will probably ignore all of this.

So… I’m assuming that you, who are still reading, are seriously allowing or ready to allow God to change you and you are excited about the journey of believing God is who He says He is and He believing that He will do what He says He will do.  So let’s get started.

Here are several resources to help you get started with steps 1 through 3, step four is all you.

Your daily time alone with God… your personal prayer time, personal bible study and scripture memory. (Click Here for the Power Pack Online)
